Ingredients:
- 500g bread flour
- 10 fl oz lukewarm water
- 1 oz melted butter
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 1 pack of yeast (10/11g)
Method:
- Mix the yeast into the warm water and set aside for 10 mins.
- To a large bowl, add the bread flour and salt.
- Create a well in the middle and add in the yeast and water mixture.
- Melt the butter and add that in as well.
- Mix with your hands until it forms a dough.
- Turn out the dough onto a clean work surface and knead for 10 minutes.
- Lightly grease a large bowl and pop the dough into it.
- Cover the bowl with a tea towel and leave somewhere warm until the dough has doubled in size.
- Once it has doubled in size, remove it from the bowl and knock it back (see video below if unsure what this is).
- Knead the dough for a further 5 minutes.
- Weigh the dough and then divide into 10 equal balls.
- knead each individual ball of dough until they are smooth.
- Lightly oil the work surface and roll the balls of dough (see my video below for a visual of this).
- Pop the dough balls onto a lined baking tray and set aside again until doubled in size.
- Glaze the rolls with olive oil.
- Bake for 20 mins in a 200c pre-heated oven.
- You will know they are done, when you tap the bottom and they sound hallow.
